Hi all,
I've been bouncing around the idea of a vintage Triumph for some time, this one is available near me. The photos are the only info I have or can get. I will see it Saturday and make a go/no go decision on the spot. I have not owned a Triumph before.
If I can get your help with model and year, I can research the going prices and learn what amount would be too much. I think it's a '69 or '70 T6 but am not at all sure. Pics I've seen of those bikes indicate a painted front fender and two gauges vs. the one on this bike.
I know this is impossible to answer accurately but I appreciate your observations and input.
Thanks, and I hope I get more help here than on another forum I posted to...

Tank badge and front wheel suggest a 1969 model, but with out knowing engine number it could be a 500 or a 650

the tank hints at a USA export tank and when looking at the photos it seems to have a USAF sticker on it, so makes it hard to plump for which it is, except the year 1969.

Engine is 650.

This bike is in the US near an Air Force base. The TR6R looks very close - was the chrome fender an option?
Thanks very much for the input,
Ron

Yep, it's a 650 all right. Looks to be pretty much original other than the godawful 'bars (which look to have caused the "loss" of the tacho) and a good basis for the resto of a nice bike.
Wish I could find something like that... ;)

That's a 500!

Looks like a 1970 model TR6R, colour scheme Spring Gold, black centre line lined gold. Polished stainless mudguards.

just used it to show the style of front guard used Triumph like BSA would use any thing that would fit if the line ran out of a component, so if it was supposed to have painted and they did not have a guard that colour they would use a chrome if it was in stock on another line

But how do you know it left the factory looking like that?

Well I recon thats a 1970 TR6C 650cc competition model (Spring gold colour) with road pipes on it (TR6R) and going by the tank and front guard its an American export model and if I,m right the front guard would be polished stainless,,just my two bobs worth ,,

Its just 10p now mate since 15th Feb 1971 ;D
-
Well, things didn't go my way, it was complete, matching numbers, and original but for bars and exhaust. TR6C, 1970 I make it. Winning bid was $1850, over my budget.
Thanks all for the help, maybe I'll join ya someday.
