Post by: john.k on June 07, 2013, 02:16:09 PM
I have a 1927 Scout gearbox with the end cut from the mainshaft. There s about 1/8in left of the flats for the  k/s ratchet,so I have the dimensions. Can someone tell me how long the flats are,and how long the thread is?Regards John.

An update on this.I tracked down a fellow I gave Indian stuff to forty years ago,he had[now] just sold a Chief and sidecar that has been in his back room since the sixties, and he gave me all the stuff back and then some.Included were several complete kicker assys, and also two complete clutches and numerous gearbox parts along with engine and frame parts. He got the Chief for nothing in 64,when the man living next to him moved.Didnt sell it for nothing though. Used the money to buy one of those Polaris Indians. Its like a red bus, ridiculous size for a motorcycle.Regards John
