Post by: n.bye on December 24, 2016, 07:58:53 PM
Hello. my name is Nick, i have a Triumph 5TA, Reg 185 FUO. Engine number H39654 N,where it should say 5TA the numbers have been over stamped. The frame number is 3TA ? /416512. On the bike the frame number has H16512. Can anybody help with identifying exactly what i have. I am just about to restore it. Cheers  Nick

You've read the frame number wrong. It's an "H" rather than a "4"  (that's if I understand your post correctly?) but why two frame numbers?
Are the pushrod tubes sloping inwards or parallel to each other? Inwards means 350 (3TA) and parallel means it's a 500.

What ever it is I think you have a problem at some time coming with the DVLA. Sounds like the bike has just had the doc plates put on it. Its not nicked is it ?
