HI
Iam fitting a mikuni carb to my BSA BLEADER(ARIEL ARROW ENGINE).Can any-one who has already done this let me know the jetting/set up they are using?
-
Easier to fit the correct Monobloc.

hi
leaders/arrows are well known for poor HOT STARTING,a problem that i have!reading various articles regarding this,, the majority
say fitting a mikuni eliminates this problem+easier starting,&smoother idle.

Personally I follow the old saying that most carburettor problems are ignition, and to me poor hot starting sings of ignition problems.
Cheers,

i have fitted pazon ignition system &set timing as advised.this is a common problem on this engine as many owners have high-lighted
&on the old ariel leader/arrow forum this was discussed&the best solution was fitting a mikuni &achieved the desired effect-better
all round running &especially eliminates the hot start problem

Although I didn't have it for long, my Arrow started perfectly happily when hot with its original Monobloc. Poor hot starting is often caused by heat soak into the carb. Do you have the proper insulator between carb and crankcase?
Have you tried the AOC forum for information?

I suppose then the easiest thing would be to ask on the Arrow forum what settings have been found to be acceptable? :-\
Someone must have experimented to find those optimum settings if it's a common mod, and that seems to be the problem with things like Mikuni carbs, namely great when they're "dialled in" but worse than standard until that time.
