Title: Villiers 12C
Post by: gambole1949 on November 03, 2022, 05:37:28 PM
Hi I am trying to remove the sprockets from this 12C engine, I have removed the nut but the sprockets wont budge is it a case of heat and pullers or do I need a tool for the job. Any info or diagram for the 12C would be gratefully received. Many thanks Bud.

Be very careful. That is a brand new, unused sprocket, very hard to come by. The smaller, Dynamo sprocket looks in good shape also.
Removal is effortless. The crankshaft has the standard Villiers 1-10 taper. Removal demands the standard technique for any taper. Attach puller, tighten up very tight then a smart blow on the end of the puller to pop the taper.
Any competent mechanic can demonstrate the technique to you.
Get yourself a decent puller set. Do not spoil what you have through want of good tools.
Good luck

33d6 thank you very much for your info. A good set of pullers and lots of care it is then. Stay safe.
