Back in 1966 I got a new  66 bonnie had to go back to meriden, when they stripped the head it was a valve guide going up and down in the head, then it would stop for a while, had a great day out at meriden tho looked after us well.. ;D

British Bikes / Re: Clutch Problem
« on: February 18, 2011, 11:14:45 AM »
Regarding the clutch problem Have you checked the lever on the h/bar if it has been replaced by a pattern part the hole fitting to cable fitting may not be the correct distance then not allowing a full pull for the cluth to disengage also cable inner could have a boken strand or being rusty then check the cable run so there are no tight bends everything should be smooth in layout, all said I take it you do not have a clutch body and plate problem..

Just an Idea to try cheers Dave.

British Bikes / Triumph screw on filters
« on: September 20, 2010, 12:29:50 PM »
Hi All' Im wanting to fit a screw on canister filter, I know I can fit it up under the gear box but the clearance aint that good from the ground( for me anyway) so can the filter be mounted on its side allowing more clearance and easier fitting for the oil pipes, I do not see why not, has anyone done this.. Cheers Dave..

No such beast, Connie. Probably you meant T100SS if it's a '66?

It should have no rust to be worth top price, be running, and have a V5C plus tax and MoT, then you might get £3000-3500, but it can reduce the value/price considerably if none of the above boxes are ticked.

Nice bikes, actually. Good handling, good (retro) looking and a sweet engine too.

Or a T100 T.C. R very simular bikes to look at can you give us a engine number it should be stamped with a (prefix letter
usualy) mine is T100T above number, Cheers Dave..

British Bikes / Re: Villiers engines and unleaded petrol
« on: August 01, 2010, 01:27:01 PM »
Regarding u/leaded petrol back in the 1960's america ran all there bikes on crap unleaded petrol as they used all types of mixtures and we get there bikes back here still running ok, as I remember the only difference was the soft valves ( mainly exhaust) the seats hardened themselves over time..
Dave..

You could helicoil it or go up a size, is it 1/4 bsp fitting? is there enough wall thickness to go up a size? if so you cold go that way and screw in a reducer to bring it back to original size if theres room.
Couple o' options there Dave..

British Bikes / Re: Triumph T1ooT 1967 front brake swop
« on: July 08, 2010, 03:14:54 PM »
Max I cannot find a real problem but all I know is when offered up to the wheel it slides on up until it hits the w/bearing and then the b/plate is approx 2mm from the drum if I were to machine off that 2mm the distance from the brake plate boss,  the fork slider would be short but as yet I havent had time to re measure.
Thanks Dave..
