Yes, a small amount of oil seepage between the head and barrels is quite common.  Is it normal? Although it shouldn't be quite a few of them did it, along with the 500 four and 750 four.

To replace the air filters, just remove the air box and add the K&N pod filters.  Keep the old parts though; just in case someone want to restore the bike later.  There is also a drop in K&N filter that works with the stock airbox.

As for the downshift, it takes almost no pressure on the gear change to cause this.  Where was your foot?  If it was resting on or under the gearchange lever that might explain it.

Yamaha TX500 came to Tokyo Show 1972...Do anyone have a TX500 from that year, or do you know , if the TX500 came to Europe that year ?? We like to build a racer TX500 , but we do not have any documents, that that Bike was in Europe 1972....

Back in the day the Yamaha TX series were rather problematic, and only produced for a few years. The XS 650 would be a better choice from that period. That said: In the USA they were available from '73 to '75 - as far as I know.  There are virtually no NOS parts available for them at this point in the USA.

Hi
Im rebuilding a CB500 Four 1971 and i want to paint the candy jade green but i cant find the present code...i know the old one but companies here dont match it..
Can someone help?
Thanks  :'(

Howdy - first post here...

Here is a list of Honda motorcycle paint colors with the codes.  The ones I have tried work.

ftp://http://www.vsource.org/VFR-RVF_files/BHondaPaintCodes.htm

Some of the early 70's vintage Honda candy colors (or should I say colours) don't really have a paint code; they were created with several layers of paint, metallic, tint and clear coats.  The result was a beautiful finish - but hard to recreate in a run of the mill paint shop-although I was able to fine one here locally that did it for me (Lunar Orange Metallic) with a perfect match; it wasn't cheap though.
