If you took the cylinder head apart you probably put the point cam shaft in 180 degrees off.

It has the type 1 system (two sets of points) but they seam to be open all the time and close to fire the plug? Is this correct?

No, something is definitely wrong there? The spark always occurs as the points open.

I'm just wondering, I think the CB72 has a chain primary drive?
So it may be one of those rare bikes where the crankshaft rotates in the opposite direction to normal, so rotates 'backwards'?

Could you be turning the crank the wrong way?

Japanese Bikes / Re: can you  identify this bike? please help

That's a Yamaha YAS1 125cc twin.  It could also be a Yamaha YCS1 which is the 180cc twin, they look alike.  Near the exhaust port will say what cc,s the engine is for both cylinders. Can't be a Bridgestone because it doesn't have rotary valves.

Possibly an early Bridgestone 125 twin, late 60's. Are there any identifiers on the frame or engine?

Cheers

I'm trying to register a BSA Dandy but can't find where they stamped the Frame number. Also, I need a recomendation where I might find Dandy and Beagle parts.  ::) Any help would be most appreciated.
