Greetings, I have attached a photo of a part of the engine and will try to send some more when I have reduced the file size of the other pics.
I hope that some expert will help me to identify the model of the bike etc.
All the best,Cheers Neale

Thanks for your reply,I am a complete novice as far as Aermacchi is  concerned !! I only have the engine at the moment , as it is a racing unit which is going to be restored together with all the rest of the bike, Eventually!! I am really after a parts or workshop manual to make sure that all the parts are there and all the settings, dimensions etc.The engine does look like the one in your photo .
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks again, Neale Didcock.
Sorry for delay in replying, but at the moment I'm not on the Internet.

Japanese Bikes / Re: CB72 Ignition

Hello pal, Just a quick few lines, it sounds as if you have the valve timing incorrectly set up , as a very quick and very rough check , remove the valve covers, turn over the engine and watch when the valves begin to open, inlet should start to open just before TDC and the exhaust at about BDC.But,before doing that recheck your points ,set them to 12-15 thou gap at max lift, make sure that the back plate is the correct way up, go about this one at a time.
Best of luck !! Good bikes ,I am after one to restore.
Cheers Neale

Hello there, the top ring is the shiny chrome ring, the second ring is the darker one,fit the rings with the makers mark ,(or oversize mark if applicable),facing up, ( towards the piston crown)

Japanese Bikes / Re: CB750K7 sohc Bottom end rattle
« on: January 20, 2006, 03:52:29 AM »
A quick way to see if the cause is from the primary drive & gearbox area or from the actual engine ( mains, bigends, cams etc ). Start the engine, then put it into first gear, put the brake on , then slowly release the clutch until it just bites,if the noise stops or greatly reduces, then almost certainly the cause of the rattle is either ;carbs out of balance or primary chains worn. These engines are noisy on tickover, even from new,I used to work on them when they were new!!
       All the best Neale.

British Bikes / Re: Triumph Tina questions
« on: March 03, 2006, 03:27:41 AM »
Yes,there was a a number of faults with this Tina
scooter, mostly due to a lack of development,on the
first models you could rev it up and away it would go,
whether you were on it or not !!The later models had a switch on the centrifugal clutch which was connected
to a pressure switch which operated when you sat on
the seat, this prevented the unexpected take off !!The
centrifugal clutch on the early models did give a lot of
trouble with excessive wear and sticking either fully
on or fully off !
There were much worse models than these.

British Bikes / Re: 1959 T-120 Bonneville
« on: January 20, 2006, 04:04:32 AM »
Yes, I agree with all of your replies, this model is not really a good looker as are the 1960 onwards models, but with the single downtube frame the vibration is kept at an acceptable level. The 1960 - 62 models had the appalling twin downtube frame and the vibration is really bad.The carb set-up of the 1960 onwards models was much better and you could actually get a tickover !! Your model is rare and being of only one year in production is quite sort after.
