Scammers use Scotland as its remote and the last thing they want is "pay on collection" even if it shows as an option .
Worth saying you want to collect and wait for the excuses as too why they need to send it .

Seen it before with same old pictures , I'm 99.9% sure it's a con so buyers beware!

The Arrow was my first restoration at the same time my brother brought a Triumph TR25W ( BSA ) , he thought he was breeze past me but the Arrow outperformed his puny four stroke  250 with ease .
From memory the Arrow has the same bore and stroke of a Yamaha RD 250 and to my ear it sounded just like an RD 200 when I first started it .
The gearbox was probably the worst thing about it and desperately needed at least another gear or even two  . With further development like twin carbs and a tubular frame I think it would have been a winner .
This is my 500cc V twin two stroke Bimota

I'm not convinced this is a genuine inquiry and you really have a bronze head for sale . My advice for anyone interested in this item ($1,200 is cheap ) would be to proceed with caution.
Please forgive me if you are genuine but this is not the first time I've seen a bronze head used as a scam .

Hello , I have just brought an old brass Lucas headlight bowl clearly marked S 51 . Made for a motorcycle but I cannot find out which one , it looks similar to the  H 52 fitted to Scott motorcycles front the mid 20s or possibly Brough ? Any help would be very welcome .

I have also reported it but as you say you cannot  describe fully the problem with the listing .

Buying on eBay and using PayPal in theory should be safe even if it's as I suspect a scam ( you would need to read eBay excluded items for refund small print first ) but it asks for bank transfer .
DO NOT SEND MONEY FOR THIS ITEM WITHOUT SEEING IT FIRST .
It's better than the average scam as it says buyer can collect etc and it's not 0 feedback item in north Scotland etc .
But I suspect if you were the winning bidder they will try to persuade you to bank transfer as they are on holiday ,too busy etc for collection .

British Bikes / Warning bronze head on eBay .

Listed today on eBay 20/1/2016  I am very  suspicious of this listing as I'm sure it's the same pictures and wording as the bronze head that sold for £3200 some time ago .
If you google " triumph bronze cylinder head " and click images the same pictures come up from a very old eBay listing . You have been warned .

Carrying a large bag of cement resting around the shoulders  slowly climb onto a first floor flat roof , when it's not ready leap onto the kickstart after first removing the spark plug and pouring at least a gallon of 4 star petrol into the cylinder .

Not the fastest bike you will have ridden but not without charm as it chuffs along the back roads, good luck .

Runesika,

Triumph didn't cast the heads in 1939 either...they were cast by Birco on behalf of Triumph as was this 1946 head. I'm sure Rob Stockdale could confirm this if you ask him.

Just goes to show there's a lot of people out there with more money than sense !
Hi Martin ,

Oh i see what you mean now . So do you know if Birco cast both the bronze and the iron heads for Triumph ?
Martin , you talk like you have a bronze head spare , are you now booking a safety deposit box !!!!!!!!!!!!

sold for £3,2030 !!!!!!!!!!  the bronze head on ebay .
That's a lot of money , it did come with some rough 1946 Speed Twin crankcases but i'm sure that did not add a great deal to the value .

Even if it was cast for Triumph by Burco in 1946 and is rare i cannot see it being worth more than a genuine bronze head made by Triumph in 1939/40  ?

I saw that on ebay's latest posting about the head and thought you had posted that up .
I have a picture of a restored 39 Tiger 100 that came out of H H workshops with Speed twin exhausts on it , he stated that " they were not fitted with the removable end caps until 1940 "  so he was not always  100% correct but this info about the head rings true .
