The Classic Biker Bar / bead blast or not
« on: February 05, 2017, 08:40:00 PM »
Hello again.

After input again re your experience. After watching numerous Utube videos still not sure which is best. To clean up the crankcases, head/barrel etc on a MotoGuzzi Lodola. What is your opinion. I personally think bead/vapour blasting is the way to go.

I live just North of Stoke on Trent. Anyone got recommendations for anyone who can carry out the work.

The Classic Biker Bar / Ken and Mollie Craven Articles
« on: May 31, 2016, 11:02:27 PM »
Hello

Does anyone know where I can find copies of the articles Mollie Craven used to write in the monthly magazines. I have searched the web but only came up with some kind of Yahoo site that I cannot navigate to any articles except one from 1948.

No need for this now, I finished up buying one from the Guzzi Classic spares shop in Mandello del Lario. Thanks to those that showed an interest.

The Classic Biker Bar / Buying a Bike from Italy
« on: October 07, 2015, 07:25:50 PM »
Advice please.

If I buy a bike from a private individual in Italy, assume I pay by PayPal, he will cover the shipping costs.

What other costs will I have to pay and what paper work will I need to obtain from the vendor, shipper or anybody else.

Your help would be appreciated.

British Bikes / Britool Torque Wrench
« on: September 27, 2015, 09:28:08 AM »
Help Please

I have a Britool EVT 1200 Torque Wrench, had it for getting on towards 40 odd years. I lost the small ball bearing at the bottom of the spring, if you have one you will know what I mean. Can anyone tell me what size it should be please. I tried Britool but they seem reluctant to release this trade secret information, just insisting I sent it in for overall and calibration.

Help would be much appreciated..

The Classic Biker Bar / Aluminium welding
« on: September 19, 2015, 07:21:51 PM »
Hello.

I have three small Aluminium welding jobs that need doing. Broken head fin, part broken diecasting of headstock cowl and cracked engine cover (non oil containing).

Anyone recommend somebody to do this please, the stuff is a bit rare so do not fancy trying myself and finishing up with a pool of Aluminium instead of my bits finished welded.

I suppose distance does not matter, I could post the items, although it would be nice to meet up with whoever does the work, so North of Birmingham South of Leeds preferred.

Thanks

Identify these bikes! / Identify this head and barrel please
« on: July 09, 2015, 08:25:47 PM »
Hello.

I am new to the site, your advice please.

I purchased this head, barrel and piston, thinking it was for a Zigolo. Just goes to show a fool and his money....

The bore is around 45.5mm dia. only port to the outside world is the exhaust port. I did presume the inlet was disc valve, but it could be reed into crankcase.

Anyway I need to sell it and before I do that it would be nice to know what I was trying to sell, mainly because there can't be another one along like me.

It has thre through bolts holding head and barrel onto crankcase.

Thanks JohnT

So help please.
