My great grandfather was Carl Neracher, the inventor of the Ner-a-Car. I hooked my dad up with Ken Philp ten years ago, and my dad ended up going to the Banbury Run to fire the starter's pistol for the Ner-a-Car riders. You can see him in the 4th photo here, foot touching the tip of the bike's front fender:
