can you identify bikes from reg.no. possably SUN?
« on: May 15, 2008, 10:33:34 PM »
I would like help identifying these bikes. the registration numbers are TE 4708 and TF 1546. they belonged to my grandfather who was born in 1908 so the pictures are from the late 20's- early 30's. people who knew him said that he had a large number of bikes including Rudge and Frances Barnett but that his pride and joy was a Douglas. I'm not sure of the model but I was told that it was a replica of one that won the Ulster GP and the sales blurb guaranteed a top speed of over 100mph, something which grandad regularly did on the straight flat roads over the marshes in North Lancashire.

Both registrations are Lancashire. TE 4708 is 1928, around October/November, and TF 1546 is 1930, around April/May.

I don't know what the bikes are, but not Triumphs!

Can't be at all sure but the top picture may possibly be a Sun. Perhaps the bottom picture is aswell.
