jap engine sv @ 750cc

i have this water cooled jap motor i am going to put in a bike frame i have , this 50 deg engine looks like it had a bell houseing bolted to the drive side and a cranking handle to the timming ( which i will remove ) has any one any idea what this engine might of come from ( i know its not morgan ) any other idea welcome

probably out of some kind of industrial kit ,even a railway truck.

Once upon a time if it moved you could get a JAP engine to make it move.

personally I think trying to use it for a bike is a dumb idea, but thats just my opinion.
JAP, Blackburne, Villiers, BSA, Sturmey Archer, Norton all made industrial engines or conversions.

Was that on Ebay recently?
Dunno about a "dumb idea" but it's not ideal for a bike, that's for sure. Probably came from a water pump/gennie set originally.
If it was mine I think I'd be inclined to sell/swap it for an air-cooled unit; a couple on Ebay last month went unsold at 1200 quid. :-\
