Honda CB500 bobber project
« on: July 13, 2007, 05:03:27 PM »
A few months ago I located a '73 Honda CB500 K2 for a mere $75. It had been sitting outside under a carport for the better part of 19 years. Compression was good and most of the parts were there. What the hell...a deal was made.

Now I am getting closer to having this little bike back on the road. After much thought, I decided to not try and make it a showroom copy but to have fun with it.

I went with clubmans but have left the seat shape stock.  I swapped out the airbox for UNI airpods and located a 4 into 1 aftermarket exhaust online used. This requires me to rejet the carbs and I have gone from 100 to 120 on the mains.

I am looking at bobbing the rear fender and switching to a substitute tail light. I am not a fan of the stock light, although it looks good on a stock setup.

Have any other readers here gone to a different rear light? I have been on the lookout for a nice light from an old American (12 volt)  sedan.

Suggestions?

BTW, I am a new member here. Great looking site!  :)
