Honda SL 125 just purchased
« on: May 03, 2009, 12:54:06 AM »
Hi guys and gals..

Ive just done a deal on a mint...MINT Honda SL 125 pictured below

I dont know alot about the bike apart from what value the item was i swapped it for (around a grand).

Its really well kept, and i'm looking to sell on in the near future.

what do these bikes make, as this one has all the trimmings but not registered on the road, as it has no light but all electrics are working the engine is like new, no leaks, goes well etc.

i was contimplating holding on to it for a few years but as the money situation changes so badly in my household i might have to part with it.

Any ideas on what its worth?.

Theres one on ebay today with 18 hours to go for 620, however its covered in rust, mine isnt, as you can see..its got aftermarket bars on it, but thats minor, i can always find some original ones.

thanks guys.. :D

anyone?

Nice bike, but not entirely original and not road registered, which in my opinion drops its value down a bit.

I'd take a wild guess that you live in the UK, but as you haven't said where you are on the planet, then are we talking GB Pounds? US/AU/NZ Dollars? Euros?

yeah  live in the uk, sorry!! its a 73 model and was owned by an 80 year old lady who did vintage trials days on her farm, she had it restored, and then a really nice guy purchased it from her in 2007, he had it until the swap this week.

The bike has the light and numberplate, documents, brackets for the indicators, history, and has brand new honda seat as well as the one in the picture, for this model. it has other spares too like a gasket set, and a box of Spares.

its been fitted with a new gasket set, bearings, piston and rings, and has only covered 4 miles since, so needs running in, the compression is really good.

i'm looking to sell but need to know what i'm looking at money wise as its really really clean, the airbox is like new, the flywheel and front sprocket are A1,  it has mega compression, it runs and ticks over like a new bike, new fork seals, wheels have no rust on them, actually there is no rust on this bike at ALL!! all bolts come undone with ease, and it goes in all gears and the clutch is good!!.

what are we talking?

it also now has a polished engine which you can see your face in, tyre on the back is new,it has a spare set of pegs, it has a box of bits including honda bolt on mudguards (new)

i was going to polish up and sell? as it needs no work at all really, and only has a few tiny scratches to the frame, it looks wat better then it does in the picture now.

oh it does have a little piece of the flywheel cover missing as seen in the picture, but i'm getting that professionally repaired.
