I have a british bike with single cylinder,and the numbers I can find on the motor are P50SS/EL1189

This is from a BSA B50 Gold Star. These were only made in 1971 & 72, but I can't tell which as the engine number doesn't seem to follow the expected pattern.
These were capable off-roaders produced right at the end of the company's life.
