Old mopeds
« on: November 01, 2007, 09:09:29 PM »
I found two old moped / scooters in a back alley in Crete this summer and wondered whether they might be rare.  Can anybody identify them please?  Pictures at http://picasaweb.google.com/john.shearman/WhatAreTheseOldBikes

The inner one(at the wall)seems to be a Japanese Bridgestone "50" form the mid/late -60īs.
The outer one with the Sachs engine, might be anything of
german origin,as a lot of companies used the Sachs. Most
probably it is a Miele of - 54 to 59.

Sachs! Of course, why didn't I think of that? But the bike near the wall (the one with "Bridgestone 7" on the headlamp body) also has a Sachs engine so I doubt if it is actually a Bridgestone from Japan, though that is what I thought before.
