Appropriate "topics"?
« on: May 13, 2006, 02:16:55 PM »
Hi Nigel, and contributors,

Congradulations on your excellent site, which I have found to be generally interesting, invoking not a little nostalgia on my part.

I wonder, however at the relevance of the following three "topics", one of which appears to be trying to sell some sort of useless trinket and the other two, judging by some of the links, something to do with drugs.

http://www.vintagebike.co.uk/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=22;action=display;num=1147489062

I have not followed any of the links as actions like this may not be safe, and I would advise others to beware.

I would be interested in the opinions of Vintagebike and others on these "topics".

A. ???

Hi there!  I beat you to it!  You must have been typing your post as I was deleting the offending articles!

You are right, there are a number of posters who insist on posting innappopriate entries on the board.  I ensure that these are deleted daily, but you are quite right, these links should not be followed.

I can only hope that they will give up once they realise that they are gainig nothing.

Glad you like the site anyhow!

Nigel.

Sorry  :-[

Looks like I jumped the gun - they appear to have been deleted.

Please feel free to delete THIS topic, don't force me to do it myself.

A.  :-*

No I think it is a useful post to keep as it highlights the risk of  following the links in these dubious posts.

Cheers
Nigel.

I have, in the past clicked links on other web sites which led to pornographic material, which I hastily deleted, hoping the Police will never get their hands on my computer.
Can you explain what, in the cited links, is suspicious, so that simpletons like me can avoid clicking them before you have chance to delete them.
If this was an 'Agony Column', I would sign myself:-
CONCERNED!

Oh, I nearly forgot to add that I have made good use of this site since I found it and much appreciate the feedback on my (apparantly sometimes stupid!) cries for help.
Checking it out is always a highlight of any computer session.
  Wonderful job Nigel!
