1938/39 speed twin handlebar clamps...

Hi All,
I am looking to purchase a set of 1938/39 speed twin handlebar clamps with the rubber bushings....your price paid.

If anyone with a set or who knows of someone with a set for sale, please let me know.

Try Jake Robbins the girder fork man....he was looking to remanufacture complete fork sets a yaer or so ago and may be able to help. Regards, Martin

I did see a set on ebay not that long ago , i cannot remember how much they sold for but anything Pre War Triumph is not cheap .
Beware of the pattern black rubber bushings ,they are too soft and if great care is not taken will allow the handlebar bolts to scrap a nice "bow" across the top of your newly painted petrol tank .

The hard red " rubber" bushings are very much harder and work much better but need a fair bit of trimming to make fit , they are often found on ebay sold by a man in Oz who makes a few bit for heavyweight Triumph's .

As rare as they are i would look out for alternative makes which should be similar being webb type,such as ariel an others.

The pre war Triumph ones are unique, with their wide flanges and bolt centres. I searched high and low for some and found them mis advertised on ebay. Agree with runesika, the red handlebar bushings from Phil in OZ are far far superior to those produced by the great Jim Hunter, they are made from a higher shore rubber and I've fitted them to both my pre war Triumphs with no issues. Beware also because the lightweight fork bushing holders are different to the heavyweight fork bushing holders and clamps I recall, they are smaller and for 7/8th bars I recall.
