tit it sounds to me you've gone somewhere to die "old wooden wheel barrow in the centre of this grass area" this is a highlight , I like france (I have never lived there as my work is in the UK) and where I am the French do go out of the evening to party and the bars will stay open until your ready to leave , im not ready to roll over yet , I can afford to smoke without letting my property , crappy little cigts in the middle of no where are ten a penny or 200 euros a week  , not sure about the trades thing in france ive never had a problem , ive no interest in your wife but if you want to send some pics ill take a look , any luck with the Bentley cc ? I am quite a nice bloke but have no time for bullshitters and you have posted plenty of that , and demonstrated a total lack of classic/vintage knowledge , which includes cars and bikes , the part of france you are sounds like hell and maybe less life than Bala , at lest you could go sailing there

All Bentley models from the 70’s up to the Arnage models have always had a 6.75 litre engine.

I think the chap may be miss leading you.

Iīve got a Howard Gem Rotovator to get between the vines on one of my estates in Spain. I ask a neighbour to plough round the olives at the other house.
15 employees, I hope some of them could spell!
I was thinking of dropping in on Bentley on my way up to UK, would Poitiers be somewhere near?
Since weīre mudslinging to keep it equal might it be a Mk. 2 Escort?

I live in a nice house too, and I have a 1988 Peugeot 205, when I open the doors I can smell wet dog and compost.

I havenīt looked on here for a long time  but Iīm glad to see someone has now all the old members have gone for a ride. I had a Peugeot 504 Estate in the 80s and it was the most useful car I ever had. At least 20 trips to my Spanish estates fully loaded, including a full length roof rack for scaffolding and even a cement mixer. Hereīs a photo taken in Falaise.

Hereīs a picture of a Bentley 3 litre 1924 taken in 1963.  I passed my test in the Mk9 Jaguar and also drove a Mk 6 Bentley which threw a rod through the block due to the previous owner using a molybdenum sulphide oil additive which clogged up the reservoirs in the crank.

nice cars and love the period pics , the site only gets interesting when a argument starts , be it about cars or bikes , but some take it to heart which is a pity , I miss Bentley eight he was the only one who made it interesting , I hope hes ok and still living the dream in france

I had a Peugeot 505 estate a few years back, 2 litre turbo diesel with a 5 speed manual box, fantastic torque, I could put in 5th gear from the west country and drive to the 154 + mile to the channel tunnel without ever changing gear; got written off in France by a mad french woman in a Mazda of all things

I am also fond of old agricultural machinery using both Merry Tiller  and Wheel Horse tractor regularly.

I always rather liked those Mk9 Jags, quite  brute of a car, shame there are so few left; I remember a fellow apprentice buying one for 75quid around 1965/6, god knows how he could afford to run it, and we always suspected insurance didn't figure in running costs.

I disagree about the arguments though; I have abandoned several sites because of characters like bentley 8, or the posters that ask for advice and then tell you you don't know what you are talking about.

I also suspect bentley is very similar to a verbose troll on another site I used to use, except that ones spelling was better.

Happy new year to all our original and new posters, when I look back through old posts several people have left who actually knew something about bikes and several have joined who dont. Itīs up to those of us who are left to try and help the newcomers.
 Imagine what it must be like to never have ridden a British twin without a crash helmet! On a road without potholes, sleeping policemen, bus lanes and yellow lines. When you could go green laning on a bike so gutless nobody complained about the destruction you caused. When you hadnīt got enough power to "top" the forks let alone pull a wheelie to impress old ladies.
 I should have been born 10 years earlier but I cant complain, bikes have never been liked in UK because they gave the working class a bit of freedom. I hope Iīve provoked a few comments to keep this site going without being a "Bentley Eight".
