Wheels?
« on: January 08, 2021, 04:11:28 AM »
I have a question about wheels.
I have a couple of rusted rims, 19 x wm2 and 18 x wm2 in size.
Will there be a problem if I replace them with 2.15 rims?
Thanks.

Next size up from WM2 is WM3, is that what you mean?
Depends on the bike, and as you haven't mentioned it, who knows? :-\

The bike is a 1963 Norton Electra.
The wheels I'm asking about aren't sized by WM2, 3, etc.
They're labeled 19 x 2.15" 40 spoke.

2.15 are WM3. No idea how that relates to an Electra though.

Oddly, Central Wheel have 2 different pages that mention the Norton Electra,
one as WM2 and one by rim width.

https://www.central-wheel.co.uk/budget-chrome-rim-19x1-85-norton-full-width-electra-navigator-atlas-commando.html
https://www.central-wheel.co.uk/norton-rim-spoke-set-dominator-atlas-alloy-hub-front-rear-19-wm2.html

Is what ye ask what you have, or what you want to fit ?
Fitting wider than original often causes more problems than it solves ?
