"The bike is sold on an 'as is / where is' basis with all faults. Bidders must satisfy themselves with the condition of the bike, its provenance, originality and the restoration work required before bidding. There are no refunds."

Not for the inexperienced or the faint-hearted! Provenance? None.

I'd be quite confident that if you tried to register this bike in South Australia - even for club registration - they would knock it back on the basis of the dodgy stampings. A big gamble, and I assume the offers for the bike will reflect this.

There is also a Terry Prince Vincent there, different seller, essentially brand new.
The other end of the spectrum ...

Don't know why he would expect to get 100k for this bike, when he probably wouldn't get anywhere near £40k here.
Prices are dropping across the board, and Vins are no exception.

Bumped into this Series C advertised by a dealer for $AU97,000.

https://www.justbikes.com.au/motorcycles-for-sale/1950-vincent-rapide-series-c-road/JBFD5260602

Said to be matching numbers, original bike. Surely the ebay bike could not be worth more than 1/2 to 2/3 of the price for a "proper" one? Currently at $AU48,000, but as it's "private bidders"...

Note that that one is in the UK.
If he can't sell locally at that plice, offer it to the colonials ?

I've seen it said that prices are coming back from the heady days of hyper-inflation ?
Perhaps more evidence of that  ??

I'm having the Series A Comet: https://online.doningtonauctions.com.au/m/view-auctions/catalog/id/139

Just one of the many options that seem more palatable than the ebay Vincent! https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/334961527827

That price estimate is a bit low ?

They sell for a lot of money in the UK ?
Even in barn-find condition.

That's probably a good buy if you can register it and ride it as a club bike. No problem at all until you come to sell it on.

It has NSW rego papers from 2005.........IMHO ,the restamped number would be because the Transport or Cops  has objected to the partially obliterated number ,and required a new number ......seems strange the new number is 2-4-6-8 ?......typical of what the old geezer who used to stamp new engines would do .........at least they didnt use the 1" high numbers that were used on truck blocks.

The seller of the ebay bike is liquidating a large collection of bikes that have been in storage for 15 years .......some of the bikes are going for low prices ,compared to what others are asking ........just now  ,a couple of girder fork 30s restoration projects ,which seem cheap (......maybe not so cheap to me ,but then  I remember when you could build a complete BSA sloper from bits bought from a couple of vendors at the Toowoomba swap.).........prices in the US are definitely still climbing ,but yanks dont buy projects .....they only buy 10/10 restorations that are all shiny and sparkly.
