what is "An ultra sonic cleaner"?  Don't think I have heard of that.....

Any thoughts how I can clean or buff the glass? There seems to be some stuff on it that won't come off - the areas are not scratches, but areas where the glass has some sort of film on it.

An update.....before and after pictures attached!

I was looking at the glass and housing (and thinking of the "vacumm sealed") and gave the metal a turn toward me while holding the glass in place.  Voila!  They came apart quite nicely.  So I soaked the metal in some derusting stuff that does a great job and a little steel wool pad and was very impressed with how it came out. I probably should prime the metal before it rusts again.....

Thank you everyone for the information.  A sealed beam head light, who knew?  These “basket case” motorcycles are very hard to put back together.  But I did recently. It on eBay.fr a rear license plate holder and a seat.  The seat I needed for the bolts because the bolts on the bike I have were sawed off

Hi

Any idea how I can get this apart without breaking the glass?  I’m baffled....

Hi,

Thanks for the reference, I will look into that site.  I recall there being a number of sites (5 years ago) but can't find them anymore.  I agree that ebay.fr is hit or miss - usually miss.

I got to a certain point with the bike and had to put it aside as right now I have no place to really work on it - no garage or shed :(  So it is boxed up on my porch.

Also, I ran into a couple problems where I either couldn't get a nut off the front fork or I need a bolt and nut for the seat (that goes through the frame) and can't find a replacement.  The one I have has been sheered off, so I have to drill out what is left of it and try to replace it. So, tedious work when I don't have the space.

Anyway, thanks for the info!

Hi Everyone,

It has been about 5 years since I posted something here.  The last one was under "1953 Terrot 125" or something like that back in 2015?

Anyway,  I can't find that thread, but was wondering if someone could provide links to companies that make or sell Terrot motorcycle parts (or NOS parts too).

None of the old links I have work!

Thanks!  Joe Joyce

Is that a reference to "computer cables"? I meant cables to the odometer/speedometer :). Somewhere
I saw them referred to as computer cables....!

Hi

Congratulations on your purchase!  I am not sure where you are located, but Lebonciin.com
has 100s of parts for sale, but if you are not from France many times there is no
Reply to emails.  Also, the Terrot Forum (or something like that) might be an option
But eBay.fr is a good source as someone suggested!

I posted a thread a while ago called 1953 Terrot ETM 125
Under my name which might have additional resources for you.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Well as we are coming into the winter here in Boston Massachusetts USA, I am a bit disheartened to say I have not made much progress with my dear ETM. As mentioned previously I am stuck with having removed one bolt of the front fork, but the other is stuck and I've had too much house projects going on to focus on it.  But I do go to bed each night thinking about the restoration, so I hope that counts for something......

I shouldn't think of the "next" bike to restore when this one is no where near finished, but I am drooling at the thought of restoring a flat tank Terrot.....

Hope everyone is well and thank you for the advice, I will and have put it to good use!
