1972 Honda CB250?
« on: July 10, 2010, 08:45:22 PM »
A co-worker is giving me a 1972 CB250 which has been sitting in his basement for some-odd years.  So I started looking around for parts/etc and it seems there were many CB250's? K's, F's, etc....  So I got the VIN off the neck and it didn't make things any clearer..."352-104544"  no letters and short some numbers compared to most, but this number is also on the motor.  The decal on the sticker says 10/72 so I am assuming its a '72.  When i search for the bike i find some pictures but none seem quite right looking at what i'm getting.  So my questions are:

1. Anyone make heads or tails on the VIN?

2. Good place to find parts for a rebuild? (gaskets, carb rebuild kits, switchs, etc)

Thanks in advance from a noob shadetree mechanic looking to rebuild a bike 3 years older than himself!   ;D

a 1972 CB 250 would be a "K" model. There are plenty of pics of these on the www. Some of the older Honda dealers still have parts for these models or you could try a specialist for the older models like Phil Denton:http://www.phildentonengineering.com/category.asp?catID=1
