Triumph engine mystery
« on: April 02, 2012, 02:08:20 PM »
I'm trying to identify a 500cc Triumph engine, serial number GP 7301 MKII. At first I thought it was a Tiger 100 Grand Prix, as it has the alloy barrels of that model, but records show all of those had engine numbers starting with T100 and ending in R. Any ideas?

Can we see a pic of the engine in question, and the numbers ?

Grand Prix model Triumphs are of course highly collectible, so much fakery is to be watched for....

Here you go R. It's housed in a replica of a Grand Prix, using a frame from a 1937 Speed Twin.
