The Tandon Milemaster was a bolted up frame construction designed by a Mr Jones from Wales who met Duvdatt Tandon at Tandons Photography shop in the Edgware Road who thought it could be exported to India C.K.D without wheels and assembled there. It didn`t catch on.
Dickie Wright was the designer of the Tandon Imps (named after his car, a 1930s Riley Imp ) He had on his desk some paperwork from Royal Enfield.
In the early 50s a close relation of Mr Tandons (brother-in-law?) a Mr Som was taken to Royal Enfields by my father on the Monday and picked up on Friday.
Mr. Tandon asked father to go to India with Mr Som. Father turned the offer down. at the same time Harry Panniker, another Indian, who had various jobs at Tandons was also asked but wouldn`t go.
Mr. Som went to India alone.
