Greetings all. My name is Beckett, and I've recently been given what I'm assuming is a mid to late 80's Jawa 638. It has been sitting (covered) in my wife's uncles barn since 1989. It was apparently won in a poker game from a very drunken Czech dock worker. That being said, the machine is in remarkably good shape, with fewer than 2000km on the odo. It took about a week of my time to have it cleaned up and running. Fun bike to tear around on, and it seems to have had all of the usual restrictions removed. Pulls hard to 6700rpm and will easily break the 100mph mark, if I feel like pushing my luck. And so a quick question: Do any of you fine folks know of a Jawa owners group/ forum that is located in the USA? I'm currently in the State of Wisconsin, and would love to speak with or meet with other Jawa owners in my area.
