1962 yd3
« on: November 27, 2014, 02:17:43 PM »
Hi- I recently purchased a 1962 YD3. Bike is in excellent or original condition… Had not been registered since 1968. I am needing to find the rubber intake manifold boot #146-13565-00 and rubber air filter jiont #146-14454-00. Both have turned to hard cracked plastic, verses the original soft rubber.
It is difficult to find parts for these bikes.. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Bob

I am finishing a YDS-5 resto and have found a lot of my bits from US ebay. Have your rubbers actually split or just gone hard as mine had. I heated them gently with a hot air gun and was able to stretch them back into shape. Try just putting the part numbers into google, or maybe try findapart.com.

They have cracks…..  I have been all over looking for parts. The YD was only made a couple years and has some "unique" parts.

The YD3 has a single shaired carb for 2 cylinders. The intake manifold is a 'Y". 2 cylinder ports into 1 carb port.
