Rare for all the wrong reasons

Rare for all the wrong  reasons \
Bought this unseen and thought from the description it was going to be an Ariel arrow, it’s not and why did velocette ever make this, it’s nice to sit on but far heavier than a LE so performance must be poor not that I shall find out, it’s at the next jumble \

your a very sick man , its standard colour but very few in this combo  even the seat and complete 26,000 miles and I would say from new , reg is on the DVLA site , £1200 as is or £1500 running , it feels and sounds like a good look over and it would run , I will try and spend a day on it but I keep getting this sick feeling when ever I look at it , if its still here latter this year (unlikely )  it will be at Malvern , the screen is missing but I am told are available but expensive @£80

I am really looking for a cheapish late LE

Thats reasonable, better if the screen was there, side panels as well?

I need to scheme a bit, never been to Malvern jumble.

worst thing on these is if the integral fuel tank is leaking, a bit of a worry in these days of 'green' fuel and effinole shite.

If you think I'm sick, my daily ride is a ratty Honda 90 cub ::)

I would be seen on a 90 but not this , tank is not leaking and looks like its been lined so someone intended using it , its complete all panels boxes etc , they made about 350 and 83 are known to exist , 4 only in this colour im told , its a 67 model by which time this model had one year left to run I think , late LEs are going up as they where the best I think forget the 150cc , the frame under the fglass is one I have never seen and not what I expected , maybe with the body removed and the twin headlights left on  this maybe OK and you could sell the body to a local fair

I don't rank the Vogue as one of the best bike designs, but it's well worth saving. I could have fun with one on a Sunday morning in the country without the slightest hint of embarrassment.

If only...
If they'd built them as a 500cc flat twin,
then they would have become a 1000cc flat four,
and 1500cc and then 1800cc sixes.
And Goldwings wouldn't have got a look in ?
If only......

Or even if they'd used the Viceroy motor, which was apparently a bit of a goer.

If I were going to own a flat twin Velo, I would be looking at the early model LE, which was at least a modern, daring design in the late 1940s. The Vogue like Mark2's is very pretty, but not developed enough for a 20-year-old design. Pity.

Remember the prototype Ariel Leader with a laid down straight 4 engine a bit like the BMW K series (but decades ahead of it)?

funny how that makes people say yuk, who would droool over a Black Prince?

I knew a bloke who rode one to work back in the 60s, us lads didn't mock the style, but the indicators he liked to use. Mind you he got to work cleanerand drier than I did.

I have always had a soft spot for these sorts of bike, what that Vogue needed was a doubled up LE engine, 400cc and some decent brakes.

I expect the chinese will get round to one soon.

I actually think it looks much nicer than the Vincent although perhaps won't go as well....

A pal of mine in the 70s had a Black Prince as well as a Rapide and a Shadow (when they were affordable) and I always prefered the look of the naked bikes.

I must be sicker than I thought then, as looking at that last pic I find it quite pleasing.

Gutless it maybe but these days  I' not bothered, my Honda 90 is fast enough.

When is this Malvern anyway? never been to it.

For me most of aesthetic  beauty of a motorcycle lies with the engine and when I cannot see it I just think scooter and loose interest , add to that the lack of performance  and im out \

I  might go, but please sell it before hand ::)

Whats it like for bike stuff? same old traders and unsold  tat from Netley and Kempton?

I just remembered  the worst bit was all the cracking fibre glass on the one I once owned,[briefly].
so its an LE then I reckon ::)

Malvern is the only one to go too unless your looking for repro tat (all the dealers are there early buying stock) , you have  never owned a vogue , there is no cracking or soft spots after 26000 and its not sprayed but in the gell this is velocette we are talking , I would buy a late LE every day but you might see another at your local rally , I have two late LEs not for sale , says a lot for the vogue
