Thanks for that murdo but unfortunately that diagram (which I had seen) does not cover this bike. The wire colours are completely different so it is virtually  impossible to tie up.
The colors are shown in the pics in my earlier posts as in
Alternator-- green, green/ white , green/yellow
Rectifier--   brown /purple, white /green, green/ black

And one more for luck.
Had significant helpon this problem here  http://www.tigercubclub.co.uk/forum.html
Unfortunately the forum is closing over fears  of the Data protection regs  and intending to go to a facebook group .
Hope that this does not become a general exodus into a dangerous wilderness.

Other clubs haven't made known of any plans to close down over the DPA.
Sounds a little dramatic to me and F-B is better in many ways (although to be fair it did kill off Yahoo Groups)  but Zuckerberg isn't really going to be able to steal your eyes when your asleep if the club does transfer...

That closure is a shame and, I think, unnecessary. Another single make site that I'm on issued their privacy policy; to which members had to click their agreement to continue. Very simple in my view.
I think you're at more risk under the wing of these sprawling giants of the web.

I agree.  As admin of another engineers forum we took advice and were reassured .
FB format is not good  for forums and the search facility is poor . It is also open to unidentified trolls and the admins are less able to keep a good reign on things .
I fear that if it is generally adopted as the home for foruns like this  then we are on a downward spiral.

I agree. There should be no reason for GDPR to cause any forum to cease operation.

As for FB - I do have an account (with completely fake details and all "privacy" enabled) but find the "forums" pretty inane. The occasional useful postings are drowned out by the dross. But then that's the case for some non-FB ones as well - I'm sure you know which ones I mean.

99% old fluckers on it, but some good cruise deals and holiday advice.

Once upon a time if we didn't talk bikes we talked crumpet.

Speaking of which I got a packet at Tesco today from the reduced price section.

Nice.

I remember stocking tops................... ;D  I also remember that tights were invented AFTER the mini skirt,  enetrtaing if you were working in  a hole in the pavement in Piccadilly, or going upstairs on the bus......

1960s were great.

Be careful of the BP at your age. Go and have a rub down with a wet lettuce. Like you, I was lucky enough to cop the last of the stocking era.
