2 & 3 speed 250cc gear boxes
« on: September 21, 2018, 01:48:34 AM »
Guys, I am currently building a few boxes for round & wedge tanks. I am going to be making a few different models.
As everything was pulled apart in crates, I have had no chance to see how they were complete.

Can someone show a pic please?

The pics are the stages I am up to, one being a 2 speed & other a 3,,please correct me if they are wrong.

You don’t say what make of bike. I presume you mean BSA.

Sorry, yes. They’re for a BSA.
The more I look at parts I have, the more I’m starting  to think one end plate is for the long gear lever for round tanks & the other is a hand change?

Well, the top picture has the two speed gate change fitted to it. I have both 2 and 3 speed vintage bikes myself ( not BSA) so am fairly familiar with how they look.
These ordinary working man bikes don’t exactly set the world on fire but they are such happy little beasts they are very satisfying to own.
