Electronic Tachometer 6 volt positive ground
« on: March 05, 2019, 04:40:14 PM »
Is anyone out there running a tachometer on a 6 volt positive ground BSA A50?  Information is clouded at best.  Is it possible to retrofit a mechanical tachometer on a 1963 BSA A50?  I only see the output for the speedometer, which is being used.

thanks

Several BSA unit twins had tachos, You would need a parts book for a Lightning or Spitfire to work out what parts are required.
Getting grumpy, but not as grumpy as mini-me.

If you don't have the needed one already you need an inner timing cover. As ever, google is your friend and all the bits are on ebay.

When I dealt with A50s electronic rev counters weren't invented, but then  again fat ol slugs like A50s never needed one :o :o :o
