Identifying Oil Pumps....
« on: January 12, 2008, 03:29:09 AM »
I've got a lovely box of oil pumps...  (I'll let you all add the tune to that line!).    I want to clear them out but am struggling to identify them and am after some advice (and buyers if anyone is interested!).

I have three externally superficially similar twin plunger types.  One is brass and looks like the type fitted to pre-unit Triumph twins.  There are no part numbers etc on this one.  Are there other possibilities for this other than 5T/6T?

The other two are an alloy? material but have the same crankcase-facing face with identical oilways as the brass pump.  This suggests they are from the same family as the first.  However, the plungers are larger on these two.  These two have external markings 6635 AM1 and 6635 AM2 respectively.

Can anyone out there help in indentifying what these are from?

Yours hopefully,

Nigel.

I couldn't say for certain, but they might be Ariel pumps - i dont know much about the Ariel oil system, but i do know they have the same eccentric nut as the triumph twins, so presumably they have a similar pump
