Hi fitting brass tank badges to tank , the tank is green and chrome ,but looking at various pictures the inlay on the badges could be same green as tank or black .
 Can anyone help please      Ps 1948 bsa b31

Just a few points have been building and riding bikes some 45 years think maybe will manage a bsa b31 I know you can stop bikes on exhaust lifters have fitted many , I was looking for possibilities on some sort of theft deterant in the shape of possibly an ignition ,as we live in a world of crime especially motorcycles  I personally put many hours in any bike I build so don't really want some scrote nicking it yes I use locks chains etc just looking fore something else

Hi john had  thought it was valve lifter just was fishing for ideas on the possibility of fitting some kid of ignition might give tony cooper a ring tomorrow see what his thoughts are not sure I like the thought of it being unprotected  but a while away yet so plenty of time

Hi have had my mag refurbed by tony cooper when I turned engine over I got a good spark my question is how do I turn off bike as spark is constant can and how can I fit some sort of engine kill switch  any help would be great

Hi all putting a b31 together when I stripped it there was no head gasket and looking on dragonfly I can not see one this is a 1948 ridged should it have a gasket

Hi john found a circle missing on the 10th attempt so ordered one from dragonfly will resume when it arrives still plenty to do with weather nice finished most of paint just trying to get oil tank clean now been stood 50 years so everything is well dirty but its a nice project hopefully be ready next spring looking forward to riding it .

ps you don't know what size screws for brass tank badges are do you  ?

Hi trying to fit gear linkage in my 1949 bsa b31 box seems to me like a bucket of worms when I finally get the linkage in seems correct but wont change gear if I change gear on square before linkage works fine
stripped it all clean and lubricated ,any help would be good
