Japanese Bikes / chain wont fit sprocket ?

hi i have a 1995 honda fireblade with standard chain and sprockets  i ve jut bought a plus one tooth  rear sprocket(43)  but it seems to not fit the chain not in length but in the size of the links  are there   different chains  or what would it normally
req to run a plus size sprocket

cheers for your help, just wondered if that aquamarine green is the colour on haynes manual ?
 As i am trying hard to find a uk paint  guide line
with  a view of colours

 just wondered if you knew of somewhere  i could
find out the width of the stripe on mud guards
and the position of the two colours on the tank as most bikes differ from one to the next cheers andy

 :) hi i have got a t100 triumph with frame no.
  t100s-h61898
i am not sure what model it is as i was sold it as a 5ta
 but think it is a daytona it has a single carb
and a 500 engine but that is all i know
it has a age related reg  1968
i would also like to know if anyone can help me
with correct colours  and stripe width on arches
and paint position on the tank .
it is currently pale blue and silver but is not original paintwork

the distributor hole is blanked off and is useing the exhaust cam driven type cover ,the engine no. is
  h24032
 if i set the engine to tdc with a timing stick and then sight it through to the the white dots  on the rotor  this would now class as full advance  position ?
i will try this  and let you know how i get on cheers andy :)

British Bikes / help i can,t get my triumph going

 :(hi just found your forum hope some one can help,
 i recently got my first british bike ,1968 triumph 5ta
i,m told it has a 1961 engine it has boyer type 3 elec ign

first ride i had a bad oil leak  r/h timing cover i removed and resealed  but  am not sure on setting  the magnet position
i have down loaded info from boyer but i dont fully understand how to set to fully advanced position,
it currently trys to start  and on occasion fires up
for a few seconds then cuts out  

run out of things to try   cheers if you can help andy
