There is a company called Palma Tuning who specialise only in XS650 stuff and are based in the UK. You can visit the web site via http://www.palmatuning.co.uk, as well as big bore kits, they also dismantle XS650's so may have the part you are looking for.

All is not lost! There is an XS650 Specialist in the UK called Palma tuning. You can find us at the following link. http://www.palmatuning.co.uk  We are based in Warwickshire, England and will be ready to trade fully with the public later on this year. At the moment we are spending our time on testing and developing new tuning products from big bore kits to rephased crank shafts. We are dedicated to the XS650 and have years of experience with these machines. You can contact us via our web site if you need any help or advice prior to our grand opening.

Japanese Bikes / Re: Yamaha xs650 air filters

Should be fine, I have done this myself in the past. The important thing to do after you've made any changes to the air filter system is to check the mixture strength is not too lean (too much air). Do a plug chop to gauge this.
Regards,
Palma Tuning
