Japanese Bikes / Re: What was your first Japanese Motorcycle
« on: May 31, 2007, 08:20:22 PM »
Just thinking about it, my first was a c90 stepthrough (R reg) when i was a lad for use in the fields.
I then bought a customised 250 superdream and a honda 125 but never got round to getting my license so sold them on.
This year I bought a CBR1000fl, passed my test then got it on the road. Always wanting an old bike, I've now bought a honda cd250 k0 (i think) and a gsxr400 (1985).
An i thought i'd not had many!

Japanese Bikes / cb250 1968 pictures
« on: August 28, 2007, 07:01:09 PM »
Does anyone have some decent photos of a 1968 (or equivelent) cb250?
I'm trying to identify whats missing (on the surface at least) so I can try and get them before I start trying to rebuild it. (It'll also let me identify whats in the bits bucket I got with it)
I've never attempted anything like this before, I know this is the basics, but go easy on me.
Is it also true that apart from the engine internals, the 350 is compatible?
Parts I'm obviously missing (to my expert eye) is exhausts, indicators, front mudguard.
How new a cb can I go for the parts to be the same?
 Thanks in advance

more research. k0 doesnt exist, people just call them that. basically it's just a cb250, later ones had the k numbers.
Phoned the guy I bought it from, he says put a battery in it and it'll fire up (a workmate i've bought from before, no reason to doubt him)
Is what i've got rare? It's a keeper, i like the look of it and wont be parting with it.
 cheers

Japanese Bikes / 1968 honda cb250
« on: May 30, 2007, 08:09:15 PM »
I've just bought it as a first restoration project. the bike seems complete except for the exhaust although some parts are in a bucket supplied with the bike.
For the past few days, i've trawled the internet and am finding it hard to get information on them.
Does anyone know of any good sites or owners clubs that could help?
I've seen sites on the internet with engine (1001680) or chassis (1001374) numbers on it that tells when a car was built etc but are there any like this for bikes?
From what i've discovered myself, I'm under the impression that its a cb250k0.
Any information that you can supply would be greatly appreciated.
 with thanks
