British Bikes / oil pump for JAP engine.
« on: May 11, 2010, 08:53:11 PM »
Hello all,
I have a 1929 Ardie TM500 motorcycle. This is a well known German bike that used the JAP 500cc side valve engine. It has a "Pilgrim" oil pump attached to the outside of the timing gear cover. My oil pump is in need of repair or replacement. Can anyone provide me with a name of a comany that either repairs my old pump, or has remanufactured pumps for sale? I can be reached at my e mail address....( lantrb@yahoo.com ) Thanks,

Autojumble / Maico motorcycles
« on: January 13, 2008, 07:22:35 AM »
I have three 1951 Maico M-151 bikes I'd like to sell. One is complete and running. The other two are all in pieces, and in boxes. They are all there though. I have the proper paperwork for them to. I'd like to sell all three machines together.

I also have a rather nice 1952 Maico M-175 to sell.
I am not asking too much money for either one of the machines. Anyone interested can reach me at  ( lantrb@yahoo.com)

Thanks,

Wanted Bikes / Sportster swap for brit bike
« on: January 30, 2008, 04:14:24 AM »
I have a 1977 XLCH Sportster that I would like to trade for a British bike.  Anyone with a machine over 350 cc from any years before the 80's should contact me. It makes no difference what make the machine is, I am really interested in riding an older British bike this summer.
The Sportster has both kick and electric start, fat bob gas tank and a small sissy bar. Other than that, it is stock, aluminium rims, spokes, front disc, rear drum. Motor is the iron head, 1000 cc engine. It runs fine and has no problems. Machine is located in Ashford, Kent.
Contact me for fotos at my e mail address below.

British Bikes / Velocette starting mystery
« on: January 07, 2008, 05:44:48 AM »
Hello all,
     I have recently purchased a 1956 Velocette MAC .
When it starts, the bike runs just fine. But, I have to kick the engine over 25 to 30 times to get it going. The points and plugs are properly gapped. The battery is charged.
Just what is the Velocette starting ritual?  My Matchles G3L starts on the first or second kick, regardless of how cold it is. I sure will be happy to hear your ideas on the best way to start my new bike.
Thanks,
Rich Lant
