Thank you very much for that although i am pleased to say i found the problem to be a previous owner had altered some wire colours which i found only through trial and error.I now have a different problem in that after a few {3-4}prods of the kick start ,the kick stat lever moves but the engine does not turn,as if the cluch is slipping,allthough i am happy to report that i have had her running and she sound great.Thanks,Neil

yes,that is the only one.i get a spark at the plug if i put a wire from the - coil to the bat with the points closed but cant get a spark at the points / plug when kicking over

Hello again
               I still have a lack of spark on my c15 but have narrowed it down to the points.i dont think i have insulated them correctly,can anyone tell me where they should be insulated.Thanks,Neil

Hi and thanks for your reply,i have just unpluged the wire and kicked her over and still get no spark at the points (or plug).Neil

thanks for your help.i have replaced the plug and cap,coil,rectitier and conections,the thing is,i get no spark at the points ,even if i cross them with a scew driver,there is voltage at the points and strangly,both sides,although less one the top side

Hi
  My name is neil and i am new to this site . I have bought a 1965 bsa c15 sport star,last on the road in 2006 and want to ride her . she is in good condition . i am having a problem getting a spark . she has a + earth 6 v system , i have checked the wires to a wiring diagram and changed batery and coil but still get no spark at the points . would a faulty condensoer cause this and is there a way to test it . Thanks for any help . Neil
