The Classic Biker Bar / Greetings from a new member
« on: September 11, 2009, 08:31:26 PM »
Hi all, just joined and thought I'd say hello. I'm the proud owner of a 68 7077 mile BSA B25 Starfire as well as a 03 HD Dyna Super Glide.

I grew up around British bikes and that's what I prefer.

Thee's a few in the San Antonio, Texas area where I live as well as a very nice collection owned by an ex-pat Aussie a few hours from here.

Look forward to checkingout the forum some more and seeing what's what.

Cheers, 850

Hello folks:  My 1st post.  Purchased 68 250 BSA Starfire single on Saturday.  I'm relatively old..way  older than the bike.  It has 5,400 orginal miles & is beautiful.   Only problem is it took my 35 minutes to start (yes, it's new fuel) and my leg is still gimpy from kicking.  Also, it only has a center stand and it's really difficult for me to use.
I can afix a side stand?  If so, where can I access one.
Sure hope you can help.

Dave, there's a few good places in the UK such as Lightning Spares, C&D Auto, Kidderminster and Draganfly. A little nearer to home try British Cycle Supply (BCS) in Nova Scotia with an office in New Jersey.

I've gotten parts for my 68 Starfire from BCS and Lightning and they both give excellent service.

Hope that helps,

Tim in San Antonio

Parts aren't that hard to come by, even over on this side of the world. EBay is a fairly good source as is Lightning Spares, C7D Autos, Supreme, Gagg and a few others in the UK.

I've got a 68 that I got off a guy and am doing just a basic clean up of it as well as replacing parts that need it, which so far has been only a few.

I'm expecting to get it on the road, expenses permitting, within the next months.
