I have been watching your progress with this, arrow1, and I must confess to not being surprised by the absence of an avalanche of advice. They were so dire, even when new, that I would suggest you put it on eBay and start it 99p.
Sad really, because there were some features and ideas  in/on them that were quite good, had they not been spoiled in the construction. A sad end to a glorious marque. (Please do not mention the "3")

Many thanks for the reply catgate... any reply is better than none, it's just that my Dad (who's got the bike.... not me, I wouldn't touch it!) has actually been asked if he would sell it... so someone wants it!

What about my 5TA that's been outside but under cover for 20 years?

My Dad has an Ariel Arrow in bits... there'll be a bit of rust etc. but it's complete... what's a reasonable price to ask if he's selling?
Any help is appreciated...
