G,day and thanks for the input guys,,

Seems I might have the wrong carbies on the bike , I have 28mm Concentics matched to the manifolds something I,ve overlooked forever, and after being made aware of the fact I,m supposed to have 26mm ,so heres hoping that this may be half the problem.
Bit of a dummy I know but just didnt enter my head,,,
I think I,II be up for a new set of 26mm and 180 main jets,, will keep you posted , thanks to ecomitissie and Goldy ,,cheers,,

 :-[G,day Guys,,,

I,ve asked these questions on a couple of other forums but havent got an answer from anywhere yet .
So what I would like to know is , can any of you guys tell me the compression for a 1970 T100C and same year TR6C, stock barrels and pistons, 9.0 to 1 from memory compression ratio, out of the box, meaning new specs.
And the other question is , some of you guys here know that I,ve got the above bikes amoungst others and that the T100C is a twin carb, and before everyone says Wrong, thats how it was ordered from the factory for the West Coast of the USA by Jo Mo.
What I,m trying to find out is the correct main jet size for the twin carbs, I,ve looked online and in two different workshop manuals that I have and have found 4 different sizes.
I just looked up under daytona but found such a big variation ???
Now I could buy 20 or so jets and start testing but I would have thought there would be a spec somewhere, or at least two places that said the same size so I could use as a starting point,,cheers and thanks in advance,,, :-\

G,day guys,,,
I,ve posted this question on another forum as well as here to try and get a few different idea,s/ answers,,Got a question for anyone that might be able to help , some time ago I read a thread on a forum about rocker box assembly , Meaning the order the thackery washer and thrust washer go together , I seem to remember guys saying that although most models around 1970 had the thackery washer (spring) up against the rocker. Apparently they should be the other way around so as the end or tang of the spring washer doesnt block off the half moon cut out in the rocker causing oil starving.
This is of course for the rockers that arent the earlier drilled oil ways type, from memory the change was late 69 early 70. Also someone remarked that the factory had known about this problem and rectified it by putting the thackery washer against the inside wall of the rocker box but on the factory floor they either didnt no or didnt get wind of it so a lot of bikes were assembled with restricted top end oil flow problems.
Now , what I,d like to no is does this apply to the 500,s as well , I,ve tried to reverse the order in which the washers are assembled , and replaced the 3/8 washer on the nut end of the spindle with no luck, Any help most welcome,,,cheers

G,day,,,

Well bought both diy kits (Nickel and Zinc) had a play this weekend just gone and pretty impressed,, Nickel was a satin finish straight out of the bath,, but buffed up like chrome ,, found that I could vairy the finish on the Zinc stuff by adding more or less brighteners ,, but also found that you have to have a really good surface to start with or the plating brings out any little scratches and marks,, but pretty happy ,, now just have to work out what gets Zinced and what gets nickeled on both the 1934 2/1 and the 1970 Tiger, ,, any advise welcomed..

G,day again folks,,, 

Have decieded to spruce up one of the 500,s , More cosmetic than mechanical as I did the motor up no that long ago.
Just want to get some opinions on paint,,  this one is a  1970 T100c and the original colour is jacaranda purple with the silver sash down the middle of the tank, as the bike is only 99% original I,m going to stick with the purple but a darker more candy colour, with the silver sash sort of an updated colour,,,can hear the purists bagging me already,, What I,d like to get your idea,s on is what type of paint would you recommend,,, Two Pack,, Lacquer,, Powder Coating,, Acrylic,, ect???? I,m going to paint the whole bike so will probably Powder Coat the frame but the rest I,m not sure yet,, any advise appreciated,,,cheers

As with most guys here I have a few projects on the go , so I,II list the ones I have started and the ones that I have to get started
1970 T110C,,,1970 Tr6C,,,1967 BSA B44 shooting star ,,,1972 BSA B50 Gold Star,,,1972 650 T120R Bonny  Ones that I still have to start are 1934 Triumph 2/1,,,1980 FLH Harley,,,and 1976 XLCH Sporty 19 ,,, 1948 ES2 Norton 500 single,,,my wife says I have to many bikes ,,,cheers

British Bikes / Nickel and Zinc Plating DIY style

G,day Guru,s,,,,

Thinking about buying one of those DIY plating kits as taking all the pieces to a plater is costing me a fortune, mainly because if I take a small quantity , say 20 nuts and bolts or 5 kilo,s it costs the same price, trouble is they sell a Zinc kit and a Nickel kit.
When I get nuts , bolts and small parts done for originality they Nickel them, so I was wondering how much would have come out of the factory Zinced,, for me its a bit hard to tell the difference , but the plater says Nickel is much more durable , so now I,m wondering if it would be worth my while getting the Zinc kit as well as its only an extra $50.00 dollars AU  , but I need to no what is Zinced from the factory......Cheers

Well I recon  thats a 1970 TR6C 650cc competition model (Spring gold colour) with road pipes on it (TR6R) and going by the tank and  front guard its an American export model and if I,m right the front guard would be polished stainless,,just my two bobs worth ,,
