Classic Motorcycle Sport / Retro Show at Santa Pod
« on: April 01, 2011, 11:24:41 AM »
Hi Guys,

I have been very kindly given permission to come on here to invite you as a club to The Retro Show which we hold annually at Santa Pod Raceway. Below is the official press release so you will be able to see that we have a bit of everything at the event, from drag racing to static displays. You guys would fit right in and we would be more than happy to give you a club area where you can park up and display all of your bikes together. The track is open too so of course you can get your own bikes on the strip. I see that the forum is split between British, American, European and Japanese bikes and they are all welcome at the show. Please take a look at the website too www.retroshow.co.uk and if you need anything else please do not hesitate to contact me, it would be great to see you there.

The Retro Show at Santa Pod -Saturday 2 July (RWYB) & Sunday 3 July 2011 - Back to the Past – FAST!

You won’t see any boy racers and their modern modified carnations here at this show as it’s dedicated to life as it was 40 odd years ago with carburettors, air-cooling, drum brakes being the height of technology.  All retro vehicles including cars, motorbikes, scooters and lorries from the 1950’s to the 1980’s are welcome, as well as classics from both sides of the Atlantic.  Even the current crop of ‘neo-retro’ incarnations like the new Mini, Beetle and Fiat 500 are also encouraged along.

During the show we will have many attractions to keep you entertained, including:
Run What Ya Brung (RWYB) - run your car on the track and get the chance to flex its automotive muscles on a proper racing track (£25 sign on fee payable).
Autoglym Show & Shine Competition - great for the car buffing and polishing fraternity.  A chance to display your pride and joy and perhaps even win a prize.
NEW for 2011 – London Rally School will be on site demonstrating and giving passenger rides in an all time favorite rally car, the Mk2 Ford Escort RS2000!  (extra charge applies).
Fireforce 4 - Martin Hill’s NEW amazing jet-powered funny car.  This will shock and amaze in equal measure, as it hits 270mph in a shade over 5 seconds!
Handling Course - you can drive your own car against the clock around our tight challenging course.  It’s free entry and prize for the quickest run of the day.
Retro Drift Cars – sideways action from a better era, courtesy of British Drift Team Morelysport, Mk1 Escorts and other many other marque’s will be demonstrating how it used to be done.
Podzilla Monster Truck - 1500bhp of car-crushing monster truck madness!
We also have the Autotrader cars for sale area, autojumble, funfair and a selection of traders keep you amused all weekend long.  Not to forget the LIVE Saturday night evening entertainment!
Are you a member of a club?  If so then great, we have free infield parking so you and your mates can park together and show off the club.  A prize is up for grabs for the ‘Best Club Display’.
Get it in the diary now!  Advanced tickets are available (up to 24th June) for only £12 for the Sunday and £20 for full weekend camping and entertainment.  For club parking pre-registration is needed. Kids under 13 go free, so why not pile the whole clan into your classic and cruise on down?
