Hello Carl.
Having worked in engine design for over 40 years, I can assure you that these gadgets don't give even the tiniest benefit. There is not the slightest doubt about this.
Take a look at http://www.fuelsaving.info/debunk.htm. This does what it says - it debunks some of the myths about so-called in-tank catalysts and much else. They are 100% rip-off.
