In '73, HD made two sportsters, XLH and XLCH, both 61 c.i. V twins. According to Vintage Motorcycles Mag (US) they are worth 1600 bottom end to 8,000 (USD) top of the line. I'd make the trip.

I don't make them, Pete. I just report on these things. Gwen Banquer makes them to order, and he will be going to work on a commission for Banquer 4 shortly.

Hi Warren,

looks like you've done a superb job on the Brough.  Do you make these specifically to order?  In my dreams...

Hi Gentlefolk...
I'm new here, and nigel suggested that I post my new blog
   http://www.fivehundredmiles.blogspot.com
here. So I am. check it out, leave comments, and keep in mind that this is a startup. the subheading says it all the Directions post gives some idea of what I'm trying to do. Do me a favor and click on the adsense links at the bottom of the page. It'll help to keep it going. I will be hitting vintage english and european bike meets in the next couple of months, and I'm glad to have found this place.

Japanese Bikes / 305cc Yamaha 196x???
« on: August 05, 2005, 10:59:11 AM »
In 1970 I bought a used Yamaha 305cc that had a 2 cylinder 2 stroke oil injected engine. I think it was a 1968 ish,or older, but I'm not sure.
Can anyone help me out with the year or model name?
It was a great bike for a young man to learn to ride and crash several times and walk away.
Thanks for your help
