British Bikes / Head and barrel Separation
« on: November 01, 2014, 08:32:09 AM »
Has anyone ever come across this before, after removing the engine of my T140 the last thing I expected was not being able to separate the head from the barrel, every nut and bolt has been removed and a half tin of Wd40 used including wooden wedges, in the end I removed them both still joined together in the vain hope I would be able to get better access , I have rebuilt many engines over the years but have never had this problem, a solution would be welcomed.

I have been lucky enough to have a couple of dozen bikes over the years and probably the best one as been my last purchase which is a very low mileage Triumph Daytona 955i with the 180 section rear tyre and double sided swing arm, hardly anything upsets it and the power out of corners is brilliant by any standards, very much a overlooked machine .

British Bikes / Rear brake adjustment Triumph t140v

Could someone advice me on the correct rear brake assembly adjustments for the T140 , Is it best to have the brake (piston assembly) screwed into the alloy housing until the rod touches the metal cup or back the piston assembly back one full turn so that a small gap can be felt by moving the rod back and forth, then tighten the small grub screw?
