British Bikes / Bsa cush drive nut?

Any tips of how to tighten the cush drive nut (new from srm) should be tightened to 60 llb per foot? with the bike in top gear and the rear brake on, the thing keep spinning around turning th engine.
Im completely new to this so any advise would be welcome. :-\

Thanks for the info.

I know the bike was a original Goldstar until the Conrod snapped and took out the Crankcase and bent the original frame beyond repair.
The engine and frame now were sitting in the shed and every other component was transfered to them.

I am going to start to restore the bike to it's original spec if i can ? Is there any where i can buy a original Goldstar frame and crankcase for a 1954 model, Or is there someone out there making reprodution frames and engines?

Hi
My father passed away a few years ago and he left me a Bsa Goldstar Replica ?
The frame has a No of CB31 1 3720 i would like to find out what this frame is off originally and what year?

Also the Engine is not a goldie engine as it has a number bb31 3877 altough i have been told its is a 500cc ? can that be true? Also i would like to know the year ?

Does anybody know an goldie man in ireland i could talk too?
