1932 Conventry Eagle 350
« on: July 16, 2009, 12:32:32 AM »
Hi, new to the site, looks great. Im looking to build a 1932 Conventry Eagle 350cc single. I basically have a motor and oil tank to start with, so im looking for alot of things. Any help is appreciated, literature, parts....i'm sure  you know what i mean. These bikes are seldom if ever seen here in Canada and it would be really cool to get this bike together again, i know shipping will be expensive but im in no hurry. Thanks again and glad to be a part of the site. Barney

Hi Barney,
if you wait for the correct parts to turn up you'll probably die of old age first!

My suggestion would be to find a suitable rigid frame (Triumph or BSA maybe?) and use your engine in that. Use some girder forks adapted to fit, a petrol tank to suit, pair of wheels and Bob's yer uncle.
As long as you don't commit the heinous crime of hacking original parts then there's no harm done. Beats sitting around waiting anyway!

Hi Rex, Yes i agree with you. Ive started looking here for parts that will work. I also have a few magazine write ups coming from friends that will give me a good idea of what to look for. Still...i may be a dreamer but those original parts could still be sitting around somewhere and unless i flip over a few rocks i'll never find them!
How common is it to see a CE in your neck of the woods? Here we have alot of nice old british iron, but ive never seen a CE.

And that's the beauty of the Net. Old bike bits have never been so accessible, but some seller still has to advertise them for sale..

Nor have I. Rarely even see ads "for sale"  let alone a bike in the flesh. I guess they weren't big sellers when new.
If you find any decent vintage spares web-sites, post a link on here, will you? I'm still looking for BSA 250 sv parts.
