Yamaha xs650 air filters
« on: January 09, 2007, 12:31:03 AM »
Hi
My air filter housings are in place but when checking, the foam was missing?
You can get a replacement but they are expensive so would it be ok just to put some oil impregnated new foam around the original housing instead? ::)
This would save spending around 40 quid on new ones.

Should be fine, I have done this myself in the past. The important thing to do after you've made any changes to the air filter system is to check the mixture strength is not too lean (too much air). Do a plug chop to gauge this.
